Office ProPlus is the version of Microsoft Office included with our Microsoft 365 license. Like other versions of Microsoft Office, it includes Access, Excel, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Skype For Business, Teams, and Word. It is a full version of the application suite, with the same features and functionality as other versions.  Although Office ProPlus is similar to other versions of Microsoft Office, there are also differences to note which are included in the list below.

• For Personal Use:  Unlike other versions of Office on campus, Office ProPlus is intended to be installed on your personal devices only (e.g., your home computer or iPad).  If you have a University-owned device, you should work with your IT department to install the appropriate version of Microsoft Office. If you are unsure of which version you should install on your device, please contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance.
   
• Licensing:  The licensing model for Office ProPlus is like a subscription - if you cancel your subscription, you lose functionality. If you leave the University of Iowa, your installation of Office ProPlus will go into reduced functionality mode. Additionally, you must connect to the internet once every 30 days to verify your UI status and Office ProPlus license. If you do not connect to the internet after 30 days, Office ProPlus will go into reduced functionality mode (once you connect to the internet again and your status is verified, all features and functionality will be restored). The final licensing difference with Office Pro Plus includes the ability to install Office ProPlus on up to five different devices with a single license. 
   
• Installation & Deployment: Thanks to Microsoft's "Click-to-Run" technology, you are able to install Office ProPlus in a matter of minutes. You are able to install this yourself - on your home computer - without the need for additional media or license keys.  Additionally, updates and security fixes are configured to automatically install, which means you will always have the most up-to-date, secure version of the software.

Office 365 를 잘 활용하기 위해서는 기존 사용중인 On-Premise용 Office(Office 2019, 2016, 2013)를 제거하고 Office 365 Proplus 를 설치해야 합니다.

일반적으로 Office 365 Proplus 설치는 Office.com 접속 후, Click-To-Run 방식으로 온라인으로 설치를 하는 방식 입니다.

하지만 조직에 대규모로 배포시 온라인 설치는 네트워크의 부하와 함께 오랜 시간의 설치시간이 필요합니다.

이에 오프라인 설치 파일을 미리 제작하여 배포하는 방식을 권장 드립니다.

1. C 드라이브에 ODT 폴더를 생성 합니다.

2. 아래 다운로드 사이트 에서, 'Office Deployment Tool' 을 다운로드 합니다.

3. 다운로드한 'Officedeploymenttool_12130-2022.exe' 파일에서 우클릭 후 관리자 권한으로 실행 을 클릭 합니다.

4. The Microsoft Office 2016 Click-to-Run Administrator Tool 창에서, 'Click here to accept the Microsoft Software License Terms.'에 체크 후 Continue 를 클릭 합니다.

5. 폴더 찾아보기 창에서, ODT 폴더 클릭 후 확인 을 클릭 합니다.

6. 확인 을 클릭 합니다.

7. ODT 폴더에 파일이 생성 되었음을 확인 합니다.

8. 메모장 실행 후 아래 내용을 입력 합니다.

cf) 64bit + 한글 기준 입니다.

9. 해당 파일을 ODT 폴더 안에 installOfficeProplus64.xml 파일로 저장 합니다.

10. installOfficeProplus64.xml 파일이 정상 저장됨을 확인 합니다.

11. 실행 창에서, c:\odt\setup.exe /download installOfficeProPlus64.xml 입력 후 확인 을 클릭 합니다.

12. C:\odt\setup.exe 도스창이 발생 하고

13. ODT 폴더 안에 Office 폴더가 생성이 되며, Office 365 Proplus 설치 파일들이 다운로드 됩니다.

Office 365 Proplus 설치 파일이 다운로드 완료되면 도스창이 사라집니다.

cf) Office 폴더의 크기는 대략 2.7GB 입니다.

15. 실행 창에서, c:\odt\setup.exe /configure installOfficeProPlus64.xml 입력 후 확인 을 클릭 하면

Office 365 Proplus를 오프라인에서도 설치할 수 있습니다.

인터넷이 연결되지 않거나 연결 속도가 느리거나 안정적이지 못할 경우 Office 오프라인 설치 관리자를 사용하여 Office 2016 또는 Office 2013을 설치할 수 있습니다.
